Competition Math is a 10-week/30-hour course that provides new and experienced math coaches with fundamental math content knowledge, problem-solving strategies and coaching best practices that are essential when working with a middle school or high school math team. For those who are new to Competition Math or those who are looking to take their current math teams to the next level, Competition Math for Middle School Coaches will give you the tools you need to become a more effect math team coach.
This course focuses on problem solving, and the skills needed to solve those problems are directly related to the NCTM Standards for grades 6–8, Math Standards, and Mathematics Common Score State Standards. Gain access to instructional videos, plenty of handouts, and detailed practice problems. Learn directly from coaches and teachers like you!
In an ideal world, classroom math will more closely resemble competition math. Through participation in this course, coaches will expand their mathematics content knowledge, strengthen their problem-solving skills, and acquire new techniques for developing problem-solving skills in their students.
